The Roots
I’m Alicia, the eye behind Iron Roots Photography. Having spent my entire life in Red Deer County, I am delighted to call this beautiful place my home.
I’ve always found comfort in quiet moments—the sound of nature, the stillness of early morning light—and that sense of calm is something I carry into both life and photography.
My journey started not with a camera, but with a feeling: moments I wanted to hold onto, not just in memory, but in a tangible image.
Early on, I realized that snapping a photo wasn’t enough—I needed to learn how to capture the emotion within the scene.
That was the moment photography grew into something more — a calling, a connection — and from that, Iron Roots Photography was born.

Over the past decade, I’ve refined my skills and developed a style rooted in quiet strength.
Whether I’m working in colour or black and white, I’m drawn to clear lines, strong contrast, and defined shadows. I create images that don’t just look good—they carry weight, presence, and enduring strength.
My calm, relaxed personality helps bring that same energy to my sessions.
With a background in Human Services, I know the value of creating a space where people feel at ease and seen.
That’s when real, meaningful moments happen—and that’s when the camera comes alive.
